What are the steps required in a typical installation process?
This is traditionally a 3-step process, as follows:
- The Outside Antenna is first installed high up, usually on the roof of your home or building.
- Next, the Amplifier is installed at an easy-access location.
- The Inside Antenna is installed in whichever area requires improved cellular signal.
Can the booster be installed for outside use?
No, Cell Boosters are designed to work indoors. This is because when installed outside, the signal will drop due to open-air signal loss. Only the external antenna is installed outside, and this is the only booster component that can withstand all weather conditions.
Can I install a home signal booster myself?
- If the house or space is a reasonable size and shape and you’re handy and are used to working on projects at home, and you can climb up on the roof, then you should be able to install the signal booster yourself.
- If the space is large or irregularly shaped, or the roof is inaccessible, then it would be best to have a professional install your signal booster for you. Vox has qualified technicians who can install your cell booster for you.
