ADSL runs over existing copper wire infrastructure, which is often unreliable, heavily contended and offers average speeds of around 4Mbps. Fibre, on the other hand, transmits information as light pulses along flexible glass fibres at incredible speed, allowing users to achieve speeds of up to 1000Mbps. Fibre connections are around 250 times faster than ADSL.

Yes, all packages offered on our website includes the Fibre line.

This will be dependent on how many devices you have, and what kind of work and Internet usage you are doing at your premises.

No. Fibre runs completely independently of your traditional voice (analogue/copper) line.

You can port your number to Vox. This will allow you to keep your telephone number. In addition, you can opt for Vox VoIP Services (Vox Supafone or using the Vobi App). This can save up to 30% on your call costs, alternatively you can bolt on our uncapped calling plan.

If you port your number to Vox and sign up for VoIP services, you will not be required to have a landline and you can save on monthly fees. If you still have a analogue copper line with a telephone, you will be required to pay Telkom for the Voice services.

Wi-Fi speeds and services are not guaranteed. For a better and effective connection, you can use a LAN cable.

Most of our packages are unshaped, with the exception of Openserve.

You can always pre-order Fibre if there are no providers ready in your area yet.

A speed test can be done through: speedtest.net, mybroadbandspeedtest, or download the Nperf App

Connection speed is affected by distance, obstacles (such as walls, floors, and ceilings), electronic interference, and the number of users on the network. All these things contribute to the slow-down of Wi-Fi connection speed.

By adding Wi-Fi extenders to your existing setup.

  • Check if all the cables are plugged in.
  • See if the Lan cable is connected from the ONT to the Router.
  • Confirm power to the ONT/CPE and router.

It is important to note that Vox cannot guarantee your Wi-Fi strength or coverage, as all environments are different. Vox does, however, have a wide range of additional products that can assist with your requirements.

This can be done with a stick test via our installations team.

You can, however, this is  NOT recommended due to security risks.

Yes. The Fibre router needs to be compatible with Fibre technology. Vox will provide you with the appropriate router or modem with your package of choice.

  • The Technical Support team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
  • Customer Service and General Queries teams are available as follows:
    • Monday to Friday 08:00 till 17:00
    • Saturdays and non-religious public holidays 08:00 till 14:00.

Monthly billing for all FTTH services are done in advance (pay first then use).

We offer to waive the installation and setup fees. Should you cancel within 12 months, the once-off fees will be clawed back.

Vox offers free installation on selected packages. A dedicated engineer will assist with your installation.

Yes, should you cancel your Vox Fibre to the Home service within 12 months from activation of your Fibre service, or your account falls into arrears, you will be charged a cancellation fee (the fee is dependent on the Fibre provider).

If you cancel your Fibre package within 12 months of sign-up, you will be billed for the Setup/Configuration and Installation fees that Vox paid on your behalf when you signed up for the package.

No. Vox does not charge a delivery fee for the router.

No. Vox does not charge a monthly fee for the router. This is included as part of your bundle.

No. Vox offers month-to-month contracts. There are no long-term commitments.
